US Department Of Defense Planned War Game Scenarios Against Bitcoin Rebellion?

US Department Of Defense Planned War Game Scenarios Against Bitcoin Rebellion?

There are generally two sides of the fence when it comes to cryptocurrency. The one side is the people that embrace the concept of digital currency. The other side is everyone else that really does not understand what it is all about.

In the middle of it all is Bitcoin (BTC) as the biggest and most recognizable cryptocurrency in the world. It is used regularly for numerous types of commerce. BTC could actually be the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to transfer funds from one party to another. The fact that it is not tied to any governmental or financial institution also makes these transactions completely anonymous.

Did The US Department Of Defense Have A Plan Against Bitcoin Rebellion?

That is what worries governmental agencies the most. A recent post on Forbes looked into this concern by the US government a bit deeper. Much of the criticism against cryptos comes from Donald Trump as president and Steven Mnuchin as the secretary of the treasury.

Recent reports out of Washington DC point to certain Pentagon documents that addressed the idea of a Bitcoin rebellion. It has been revealed that the US Department of Defense has run war game scenarios of a Generation Z rebellion. A key part of the strategy is the use of bitcoin to ‘undermine and evade the establishment.’

The war game considered anyone born between the mid-1990s into the early 2010’s as members of this generation. Suspects would use cyber attacks to steal money and convert it to bitcoin. This was according to documents published by The Intercept. This is an investigative news site.

The initiative was titled, 2018 Joint Land, Air and Sea Strategic Special Program (JLASS). The war game is set in 2025. The premise is “intended to reflect a plausible depiction of major trends and influences in the world’s regions.”

Ties to the present demonstrations across the nation have been drawn. The narrative for these protests is against racial injustice. The narrative for JLASS is certain members of Gen Z who envision themselves “as agents for social change.” They believe that the “system is rigged” against them. The idea is to start a “global cyber campaign to expose injustice and corruption. And to support causes it deems beneficial.”

The group is referred to as Zbellion. The cyber attacks are planned against any organizations that support “the establishment.” Stolen cash would be converted to bitcoin.

Those funds would be used to make “small, below the threshold donations” to “worthy recipients” and other members of the Zbellion.

The same program is also tied to war game scenarios against Islamist militants and anti-capitalist extremists. Participating members included students and faculty from the US military’s war colleges. These are often recognized as the country’s training grounds for the next generation of high ranking military officials. This includes generals and admirals.

BTC has been more prominent in the news these days in light of the coronavirus pandemic. This has ties to an unprecedented increase in the levels of governmental debt. Many investors do see bitcoin as a potential hedge against rampant inflation.
